Takai was at his desk a few minutes earlier than he planned. The Transfiguration room was a large, round walled room. Takai walked into the middle of it quickly. He stared around, taking in every detail, looking for every escape root; Just in case of course. There were a few. There's enough... The window about one story up would suffice.
Takai turned on his heel and stalked back to his desk. He liked the decorations already. Nothing. It was bland. "Oh..." Takai fumbled in his drawer for something. A poster. He flicked his wand and it zoomed over to the wall and hung itself up. The poster said: "Hanabi!" in big red letters.
Dealing with children wasn't his forte but he could deal with it... For now. At least he had a place to sleep. Takai took a seat on his desk. Yes his desk. Chairs just weren't his thing... None of the students probably knew who he was. He just sort of popped out of nowhere. Takai in his black jacket, green T-shirt, and rugged black jeans would not look like a teacher. But a gangster. He smiled. That was the effect he wanted.
Some students came in, saying hello. Takai didn't even glance at them. He preferred to keep his relationship between students VERY strict. He didn't actually like kids so much. There was an exception here and there, but in general, they were all rotten...
After all of the students came in, Takai flicked his wand and the door closed loudly. He turned the lock for dramatic effect. "Hello,"Takai began, slowly, "My name is Takai Kajikame. You ALL will address me as Professor Kajikame..." He glanced around the classroom once again, making sure that no kids were being cheeky.
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back," Takai said, quoting Minevra McGonagall, "You have been warned.
"I hope you have all brought your Latin Dictionarys..." Takai snarled, "You will need them since Latin is the root of all Transfiguration spells..." Takai turned around and flicked his wand, exposing a row of glasses. "Today you will be turning these wine glasses into a jewelery boxes. The spell that you need is the "Res rei verto." I will demonstrate..." Takai grabbed his wand and pointed it to one of the glasses.
"Res rei vas verto dee amond archa!"
The glass shone for a second and then turned into a large jewelery box. "First you say "res rei", then you say what you are trying to transfigure (in Latin). Then you say "verto" and then you say the thing you are trying to transform your item into (in Latin)."
Takai flicked his wand and the glasses soared over to every desk. "Give it a try..."

Izzie who had surprisingly made it to class on time sat near the front of the room and attentively listened to Professor Kajikame. She knew already she wasn't going to do good in this class. Transfiguration wasn't her favourite and to be honest, the professor frightened her. Hearing rumours of him being a death eater didn't help her fear any either.
Smiling at the Professor, she did what she does best, flirt. It was more of a friendly flirt as she told him, "Professor, you look really nice today. I must say that shade looks perfect on you." She batted her eyelashes, she had done this before with male Professors and knew what she was doing. Her mark always went up but it's not like she did anything with them, she just innocently flirted.
She made sure she had her Latin dictionary since she didn't want to get on his bad side. Izzie smiled at the professor as he explained what they were going to be doing in class. Watching his perfect example, she gulped. Her transfiguration skills weren't the best. The glass flew to her and Professor Kajikame said to try so how could she not?
Taking a deep breathe, she chanted the spell, "Res rei vas verto dee amond archa." With the flick of her wand, the glass shone with a very dull light and turned into a jewelry box. Though it was made of glass unlike the Professor's wooden box, she smiled and raised her hand slowly, "Umm... Professor, is this okay?"

Post by Lilly .L. Lestrange on Jan 20, 2008 23:58:03 GMT 5
Lilly was reasonably early to the lesson despite her usual tendencies to be extremely late. She had heard a few rumours about the new Transfiguration teacher, and even though it was like Lilly to get intimidated or bullied by anyone-least of all teachers, she had decided that it was in her best interests to at least behave in his lessons, and behaving consisted of being at least on time for lessons, being early was being a teachers pet, it was more like not wanting a detention.
She had taken a seat not at the very front, but not in the middle, her long black hair trailed behind her as she took her seat and stared dreamily into the vacant space infront of her, she started day dreaming about her day at the lake with Lexi/ But as soon as Professor Kajikame walked into her back snapped up and her dreamy expression was replaced with one of pure focus.
What he was explaining didn't appear to be too difficult. She cleared her throat and pulled out her wand. She positioned her Glass and said clearly ""Res rei vas verto dee amond archa." " as she said the words she did a quick flick with her wand. Her glass quickly turned into a wooden box, but it was extremely shiny a bit like glass, but it was reflective. "Umm Professor Kajikame is this ok?" she asked a little uncertain .

Yoni walked into the class, following some others and sat down randomly where he had a free seat, he looked around in the class room and then noticed the professor as he started to speak. He hadn't noticed him when he came in, he had just been sitting on his desk, waiting for them to take their seats.
He and the other students listened to the professor as it looked like someone who you didn't want on your bad side and he didn't know why, but those were the ones he mostly got on the bad side off. He sighed as he hoped that this wasn't going to happen now.
He grabbed his latin dictionary out of his bag, he allready hated this book as it was too big and heavy to be good for all of them. He had seen the first years suffer with them allready but it was no difference for the other years either.
His attention was turned to the professor again as he was going to tell them what they were going to do. "Today you will be turning these wine glasses into a jewelery boxes. The spell that you need is the "Res rei verto." I will demonstrate...". He heard the professor say the words and he repeated suprised "Res rei wha-"
"This will be hard"Yoni said sighing and looked at the glass which came in front of him and he then looked at the professor again as he told them what they had to say. When he had come to the last words, he had forgotten the first allready.
"Okay"he said again and rolled up his sleeves as he had his wand in his hand. "Res ray vas virto dee amond arga?"he said a little unsure as he flicked his wand and his glass just turned into wood, still with the same shape. "This can't be right"Yoni said as he scratched his head a little.

Takai stared at the round faced girl who started to flirt with him. She was 14. Way past his age line. "Isabella Jacobs," Takai announced loudly, "Next time you try to butter me up, you WILL receive a detention..." He turned around and faced the blackboard behind him. Foolish girl. Trying to make me like her... She's just putting herself on the BAD list...
After fuming, Takai turned around to face the girl mess up her spell. He snorted. All she managed to do was turn it into a squarish shape. He almost smacked his own head.
"Umm... Professor, is this okay?"
"No," Takai said, with deadly calm, "It is NOT okay... Do you REALLY think a glass square is okay?" Takai flicked his wand effortlessly; the sad excuse for a jewelery box turned back into a glass. "Try again..." Takai said, barely able to stop from exploding.
"Umm Professor Kajikame is this ok?"
I really wish they'd stop asking me that... Takai turned around to see Lilly Lestrange with shiny box. "Not terrible..." Takai said, inspecting it, "It's very shiny but it has a sheen on it..." Takai flicked his wand again and the box turned back into a glass.
"Res ray vas virto dee amond arga?"
"Oh for heaven's sake..." Takai looked over at Yoni Reno. And of course, he was just in time to see Yoni totally mess up his spell. Takai smacked his head, leaving a hand print on it.
"This can't be right..."
"No. really?" Takai said, putting on a face of shock, "I wouldn't have noticed that that doesn't look like a box... And it's res ray vas virto dee amond arga!" Takai grunted and flicked his wand at a piece of chalk. He made it zoom toward the board. It wrote:
Res rei vas verto dee amond archa! This is for those people who are dumb enough to not to be able to remember seven Latin words...
Takai plumped himself onto his desk. Saddest class ever... Please, someone please. GET IT RIGHT!
"Say the spell with emotion. Transfiguration is about pronunciation and feeling!"

Izzie let out a squeak as the Professor's voice boomed. Going red as he turned around, she made a note in her book that read: Get marks the old fashion way in this class by doing actual work. She nodded quickly as he turned around. Before Izzie could take a deep breathe to calm herself, he turned back around to look at her try at Transfiguration. She jumped as he told her, "It is NOT okay... Do you REALLY think a glass square is okay?" Then he transfigured her box back into the glass it was before. He walked away to yell at other students and Izzie grew angry. How dare he be rude at her? She didn't care if he was a teacher or not. He didn't have good people skills and she was just trying to help. "Whatever," She muttered. Looking at her glass, she said rather annoyed, "Res rei vas verto dee amond archa." Her glass began to glow as the Professor's did. A smile began to grow on Izzie's face until.... BOOM!...the glass exploded and fragments flew everywhere. Sitting there in awe for a minute, Izzie said in a rush ed and nervous voice, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She got up, only to trip over her bag. Groaning, she reached for her wand and pointed it at the glass pieces, "Repario!" The pieces all floated back together until finally the glass was whole again. At least Izzie was able to spells good. She grabbed the glass off the floor and got up. Sitting down, she didn't dare look at Professor Kajikame who she knew was staring at her. Izzie bit her lip and calmed down, in a more relaxed tone, she once again said, "Res rei vas verto dee amond archa!" She flicked her wand and the glass began to glow again. Scared that what had happened last time would happen again, Izzie covered her face. But surprisingly, it turned into a jewelry box. Izzie peeked through her fingers then put her hands back on the desk. She stared at it in disbelieve, she picked up the box and expected it. It was a wood jewelry box with even pink detail on it. She smiled and giggled nervously, "Third times, a charm!"

[/b] Katara groaned, trying to get past the many students who happened to be blocking her path - and surprise and surprise, they were Slytherins. "Please let me past, I need to get to my next class." The Slytherin boy snickered at what she'd said. "Typical. A Ravenclaw, trying to get to class on time. Hah!" This, however, effected the young girl dearly. "I'm not trying to be the best," Katara muttered, lowering her gaze to the marble floor. "You can't just judge someone because of the house they were placed in." At this, the Slytherin group each shared a look of some sort, before bursting into loud laughter that echoed across the corridors. "Calm down, cutie. We're not judgin'." At having of heard 'cutie', Katara's head snapped up. He did not just call me what I think he did. Despite her shortage in height, Katara did have her slightly violent side. However, she preferred not to show it to the public eye. As a replacement, Katara took a deep breath, and then smiled. "Well," She started calmly. "That's a good thing." That's it? That's all you have to say? Stuuuuupid. However, if I catch you judging any others my age, or even older. You'll regret that you'd ever said a word." Smiling in a cute way, Katara walked off, grinning to herself. That a girl! You teach them who's boss."I hope you have all brought your Latin Dictionaries, You will need them since Latin is the root of all Transfiguration spells. Today you will be turning these wine glasses into a jewelery boxes. The spell that you need is the "Res rei verto." I will demonstrate..." Once having of entered the classroom, Katara's gaze drifted from the Professor, to the wine glass. What do we need wine glasses for? Are we going to get drunk or something? Just the thought of a classroom full of underage students drinking made this girl giggle, however, she refrain from doing such a thing, and held back her amusement. Drunk kids. Heh, oh the joy. Smirking to herself, Katara covered her mouth, trying to keep as quiet as possible. Sitting herself at a desk, Katara blinked as soon as she heard the spell they would be using. "Res rei verto..." Scattering her brain for what that meant in Latin, the Ravenclaw failed in her hopeless attempt. Oh dear. I can tell much of a use I'll be in this class. Rolling her eyes to her thought, Katara shook her head. Glancing at all the other students who were trying their hardest to get the spell right, Katara casted one short glance toward the Professor, who didn't look all that impressed with the classes attempts. So far, Yoni had failed, the Ravenclaw girl had attempted to flirt with the Professor, causing Katara to shudder, and the Slytherin sort of succeeded - much more than everyone else. "No. really? I wouldn't have noticed that that doesn't look like a box... And it's res ray vas virto dee amond arga!" Having of heard his tone toward Yoni, Katara could barely refrain herself from backing him up. "Their was no need to be rude about it." Katara said, refusing to give the Professor eye contact. "At least his trying. One can't succeed in something if they don't have trips along the way." Fearing what she'd receive as a punishment, Katara quickly pipped down, not saying a word. Do the bloody spell, m'dam. Upon lifting her wand, Katara eyed the wine glass, trying to focus. Say the spell with emotion. "Res rei vas verto dee amond archa!" The wine glass shifted slightly in appearance, but sadly did not turn into a "perfect box." Oh well. Nobody get's it right first time, right? [/font][/ul]
